In the presence of the Assistant Professor Dr. Lazgin Abdi Jamil, the president of Zakho University, the president assistants, the deans of colleges and faculties, lecturers and students of the University of Zakho, and on the occasion of Newroz anniversary, on Thursday,30th of March, 2017, the Faculty of Education at Zakho University, in collaboration with the Sports Federation in Duhok, organised a marathon for all girls and boys of Kurdistan.

In this marathon, around 423 boys and girls participated. The referees of this marathon chose three winners from both genders. The list of the names of the winners are shown below:
